Anaerobic Digestion of Microalgae in a Pilot-Scale Reactor | PHYBIOMED Project (PRIMA)
This work is carried out by Adja Fatou Bala DIOP during her internship at the Laboratory of Chemical Process Safety (LSPC), INSA Rouen Normandie, as part of the European PHYBIOMED project funded by the PRIMA Programme.
The internship focuses on the anaerobic digestion of Chlorella vulgaris at pilot scale to evaluate its potential for biomethane production. A particular emphasis is placed on assessing the impact of a thermochemical pretreatment, designed to disrupt the rigid microalgal cell wall and improve biomass biodegradability, ultimately enhancing methane yield.
