Participation in PYRO 2026 – The 25th International Symposium on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis
We are pleased to highlight the participation of our PhD student Nada Kouraa (Mohammadia School of Engineers, Mohammed V University of Rabat) at the 25th International Symposium on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis (PYRO 2026), held in Pisa from 7–11 June 2026. PYRO 2026 is one of the leading international conferences dedicated to pyrolysis science and technology, bringing together researchers, academics, and industrial experts working on biomass valorization, thermal decomposition, kinetic modeling, and advanced analytical methods.
Nada presented her work entitled:“A Robust Hybrid NLSM-AI Based Kinetic Approach for Pyrolysis Valorization: Application to Biopolymers and Biomass”Her research combines Artificial Intelligence (ANN) and kinetic modeling (NLSM) to predict the thermal degradation behavior of biomass and biopolymers while significantly reducing the need for time-consuming thermogravimetric analyses. The proposed methodology demonstrates the potential of AI-assisted approaches to accelerate pyrolysis research and process development.
Beyond her scientific contribution, Nada is also actively involved in the development of WaTool, the integrated decision-support platform being developed within Work Package 4 (WP4) of the PHYBIOMED project. WaTool aims to support stakeholders in water management, wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and circular economy strategies across Mediterranean regions. Her work perfectly illustrates the multidisciplinary vision of PHYBIOMED, bridging artificial intelligence, process engineering, biomass valorization, and sustainable resource management.
