IBIC 2026 (International Conference on Industrial Biotechnology) is an international conference organized by AIDIC that will be held in Palermo, Italy, from 10–13 May 2026.
The event brings together researchers and industry experts to discuss recent advances in industrial biotechnology, bioprocesses, biorefineries, biofuels, biomaterials, and sustainable bio-based technologies, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
At IBIC 2026, Maya Ouissem Bouznada presented recent research results related to Work Package 3 (WP3) – Biodigestion Treatment and Sustainability Assessment of the PHYBIOMED project. The presentation focused on the kinetic study of biohydrogen production from the macroalgae Laminaria digitata in the presence of biochar derived from digestate, highlighting innovative approaches for enhancing renewable energy production from biomass residues. These results contribute to PHYBIOMED’s objective of valorizing biological resources through anaerobic processes and advancing sustainable energy recovery within the circular economy framework.
