Through this international collaboration, the project aims to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for wastewater valorization, resource recovery, and circular economy implementation across the Mediterranean region.<br><br><strong id=\"e-mpss3179-ab6x3a5\">Project Budget<\/strong><br>With a total budget of approximately <strong id=\"e-mpss3179-mbepi8k\">\u20ac923,000<\/strong>, PHYBIOMED benefits from the support of national funding agencies under the PRIMA programme. Her research focuses on the selection, optimization, and cultivation of microalgal strains for environmental and biotechnological applications. Within PHYBIOMED, she will support the consortium in identifying the most suitable microalgal strains for wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery, CO\u2082 capture, and bio-based product generation. Her expertise will contribute to improving the performance and robustness of the microalgae-based processes developed in the project.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Associate Partner \u2013 Dr. Amina Benaissa (Algeria)<\/span><\/h3><p><strong>University of Skikda<\/strong><\/p><p>Dr. Amina Benaissa is a specialist in wastewater treatment and environmental process engineering. Her research activities focus particularly on adsorption processes, electrocoagulation technologies, water quality assessment, and environmental impact evaluation. Within PHYBIOMED, she will contribute her expertise to the development, optimization, and evaluation of innovative wastewater treatment processes, especially those based on adsorption and electrochemical technologies.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Stakeholder \u2013 SEACO (Algeria)<\/span><\/h3><p><strong>Water Distribution and Drinking Water Utility<\/strong><\/p><p>SEACO (Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l&#8217;Eau et de l&#8217;Assainissement de Constantine) is responsible for drinking water distribution and water services in the Constantine region. As a PHYBIOMED stakeholder, SEACO is particularly interested in innovative technologies for water treatment, wastewater reclamation, and the production of safe drinking water. The company will benefit from the project&#8217;s developments in advanced water treatment processes, including photocatalysis, electrocoagulation, adsorption, and electrochemical technologies, while providing valuable feedback regarding their applicability under real operating conditions.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Stakeholder \u2013 EGEZIA (Algeria)<\/span><\/h3><p><strong>Management of Ain-Smara Industrial Zone<\/strong><\/p><p>EGEZIA is a subsidiary of the ENMTP Group responsible for the management of the Ain-Smara Industrial Zone. Its activities include potable water distribution, wastewater treatment, operation of a wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance of water, electricity, and gas distribution networks. As a PHYBIOMED stakeholder, EGEZIA will facilitate access to real wastewater samples and operational data for testing and validating the technologies developed within the project.
